Who are you?
I am Mehran Erfan, 28 years old from Iran.
When did you start making art?
I have been drawing for about 15 years and I have been working professionally on calligraphy for about 10 years.
What do you love about calligraphy and typography?
Something made me interested in calligraphy. It feels good when I do this and I get a lot of peace from it.
Where would be a good starting place to learn about calligraphy and typography?
I learned this out of personal interest and did not learn it professionally or in a training class.
Why did you choose Hic Et Nunc?
When I got acquainted with NFT, I was introduced to many platforms, but I came to the conclusion that with Hicetnunc I can display and see art sooner.
Explain the process for making a piece?
I usually manually sketch the initial idea of โโthe work on paper and then start designing it with digital software.
What adds value to your art?
I feel there is a lot I can learn in this field and I try to connect with professionals in this field to be added to the art.
What is the most important life lesson you have learned?
The only thing that is important to me in life is honesty and love for other people, and in my work I always try to use poems or sentences for calligraphy that have this meaning so that I can make an impact alongside it. Have a positive effect on people.
Do you have any works that are your favorite?
I have a collection called ‘Hich’ which is a poem by Rumi in the sense that all human beings will die one day and the only thing left of them is love and affection. I think I like these things the most
What do you do outside of NFTs?
Outside of NFT, I have a design company and I work with different brands to design them, and I also have a clothing brand called ‘HICHSTYLE’ and I do clothing design.
