What is real?
What is artificial?
We live in a world of socially constructed symbols and meaning. Yet, it’s AI-assisted techniques that are labeled as fake or artificial.
On March 3rd “DEEP FAKE” will premier at the SuperchiefNFT gallery in Los Angeles. This event is the latest art exhibition by The MAIF collective. There will be 62 artists from the collective featured at the event showcasing 73 pieces in person and minted on both Foundation and OBJKT. Today on March 2nd, auctions will go live for the 1/1 artworks. Additional 30 edition collaboration artworks will be minted on OBJKT.
In the words of ClownVamp:
“The goal of the show is to attack head-on this silly idea that certain art can be fake or artificial or easy. In fact, AI-assisted art is one of the most powerful tools that creators have to tell the world their real stories and express real emotions. So much of life is fake. We live in a world where every advertisement is photoshopped, where value is socially constructed, and lies are a primary currency of political discourse. The mission was to use these tools to look critically at these ideas around reality and make clear that so much of it is BS. Art is a antidote to so much of this garbage, And if AI makes it easier for that antidote to exist then it’s a massive positive for society.”

We wish the best for all artists involved and the collectors who are looking to score some of these AI works at auction. AI assisted art isn’t going anywhere and embracing new technology is what pushes us all forward.
Additionally we hope you enjoyed looking at the art spread throughout the article and we encourage you to check out all the works that will be in the gallery and to use the hashtag #MAIFDeepFake to stay in touch with all the information and art from the event.
There will be a Twitter Spaces that will take place on March 3rd hosted by @SuperchiefNFT & @ClownVamp. Come and learn more about the artists of the show! Auctions start on March 2nd. (TODAY!)
